A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
I am a fully qualified Yoga and Pilates Teacher and Teacher Trainer based in Cheddar. My journey began with a love of dance, followed by two decades of developing inclusive arts and wellbeing projects. I've always found freedom through movement and have a passion for working with people of all ages and abilities to promote wellbeing and creativity—passions I now weave into my teaching practice.

After earning my BA(Hons) in Dance in 1997, I was fortunate to begin working at Sadler's Wells Theatre in the Community and Education Department, working with the over-60s performance group and the youth dance company. My first experience with Pilates was during my degree in 1993, and I attended my first Iyengar yoga class in a London studio in 1998. While initially drawn to Iyengar, I discovered Ashtanga yoga during travels in Thailand in 2000 and was drawn to its dynamic, dance-like flow, leading to a deeper exploration of Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga. Over time, my practice has expanded to include restorative yoga and yoga nidra, both of which have been invaluable during challenging periods in my life.

In 2015, I embarked on my formal yoga teacher training with Sheila Haswell, a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, and have since continued my professional growth with respected educators such as Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., Wendy Teasdill, and anatomy expert Andrew McGonigle (Dr. Yogi). I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Mat Pilates and have completed Yoga Alliance-accredited courses in Yin Yoga and Pranayama.

Today, I teach Vinyasa yoga, a dynamic practice where sequences of poses are connected through breath and movement. My classes are diverse, blending my extensive experience in Iyengar (including restorative poses), Pilates, and dance. I have a special interest in supporting older adults and tailoring my teaching to meet individual needs. I am committed to making yoga and all creative practices accessible to everyone, working to break down barriers to participation. I balance my love for teaching in the local community with my work as a Yoga and Pilates Teacher Trainer while continuing to develop inclusive arts and wellbeing projects with Youth Music.
